Home>Flight Instruction
All flight instruction at Sailplane Enterprises begins with a 20 minute Introductory Assessment Flight. Here, you and your FAA certified instructor will evaluate where you're at and discuss the optimal strategy for getting the rating. On average, a beginning student can expect to solo a sailplane after about 35 to 40 flights, totaling roughly 10 to 12 hours of flight instruction. Separate ground school training is not required, as the relevant material will be covered during each regular lesson. After your first solo, you will continue to meet with your instructor and build up your solo time. When you've met the FAA requirements and you and your instructor feel confident of your success, its time to take the FAA written and practical tests and get your rating!
